3M™ DP490 Scotch-Weld™ EPX Epoxy Adhesive is a tough, high performing adhesive. It is a black thixotropic gap filling two component epoxy adhesive.
The DP490 adhesive offers high temperature resistance up to 120°C and high resistance to impact and ageing.

WHAT IS A STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE?
3M’s high-strength structural adhesives are fundamentally load-bearing formulations. Bond strength is often as strong as, or stronger than the materials joined.
WHY USE A STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE?
Structural adhesives such as the 3M DP490 are chosen for a multitude of assembly operations.
Unlike mechanical fastening methods structural adhesives -
- Do not damage substrates (no holes drilled, weld marks)
- Can join dissimilar substrates
- Distribute stress levels evenly throughout substrates
- Offers weight and waste reduction
Compared to other adhesives, structural adhesives have the highest load baring capability. As well as excellent environmental and chemical resistance.
Structural adhesives cure in an irreversible process which helps provide excellent temperature and solvent resistance. They do not need access to air to dry; nor moisture (like one-part silicone and polyurethane sealants); and thus have unlimited depth of cure

DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF 3M DP490
- Place the DP490 cartridge into the 3M EPX Applicator and clip it into position
- Remove the resealable cap from the D490 cartridge
- Attach the correct mixer nozzle
- Expel a small quantity of adhesive and ensure both components flow freely
- Dispense the adhesive as required
- When finished with the application either leave the nozzle in place and store, or remove the nozzle, wipe clean the tip, and replace the cap
