3M™ Scotch 69 Glass White Cloth Tape Specifications
- The 3M™ 69 is a premium Glass Cloth tape that offers protection to surfaces and materials electrically insulate and provide mechanical protection at high temperatures.
- Constructed from a woven fibreglass backing incorporates a silicone adhesive, which is great for applications requiring high-temperature applications.
- The 69 is a strong and durable tape that is designed to perform at high temperatures. It is designed for use on 600-volt dry location applications motors, and transformers with and without varnish coating. On top of that, it can withstand intermittent temperatures of up to 200°C. This is dependant on the type and duration of the heat source.
Features and Benefits
• Glass cloth tape with a high-temperature, thermosetting, silicone adhesive
• Adhesive provides an increased bond once applied in areas of high ambient temperatures
• Edge-tear resistant conformable, high-temperature flame resistant
• For use as a coil cover, anchor, banding and core, layer and crossover insulation
• Printable
• UL recognized for continuous use up to 200°C
Typical Applications
• Reinsulating and repairing coils on mining machines
• Splicing silicone-covered glass wire where splices require more abrasion resistance and mechanical strength than can be provided by silicone tapes Insulating Class “H” dry-type transformer leads
• Insulating splices made on SA type wire in heat treat areas
• Especially suited to high-temperature applications
• Used in a variety of coil/transformer and motor applications, including an outer wrap for bobbin wound coils, banding arbour wound coils, lead pad to hold down, end turn and lead anchor and connection.
